Summer Time Blues and Greens and Paint
The highlight of my summer thus far is following this guy
to the High Museum in Atlanta where Mo Williams (author of the Pigeon books and so many others) had an exhibit. I love work in progress so that I can see all the steps an artist does. In addition to loving the original sketches, I loved the the work was hung at the eye level of children.
There was also lots of other art in the perm any collection. Olivia enjoyed her first Rothko.Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Enjoying the third grade Coffee House today. They are reciting poems dealing with social studies, math and other areas of study in Mrs Ivester's third grade! Hmmm I'm gonna have to skip her an art one to add in for next year.

WES-School Board Appreciation Art Piece
There are many purposes for creating Art. We create Art to define ourselves, our world, and our hopes for the future. The artists of Wright Elementary would like to share this work to show a "piece" of who we are. Each student from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade has created a unique puzzle piece to be included into this assemblage of pieces representing our school and it's talented, and special students. This mosaic is an illustration of who we are and who we are becoming thanks to the support of our parents, our teachers, administrators, staff and the school board of Anderson District Two.

Puzzling Pieces
This week the pandas at Wright will get a special treat and there will be two days of Art so that we can create our special gift honoring our school board members. Each student will decorate a puzzle piece any way they want within a limited palette, and selected items for their grade level.
